About Bluewater Festival
Organised by the Sandgate & Bayside Chamber of Commerce, the famous Bluewater Festival held at Shorncliffe Pier is one not to be missed and a memorable day out with family and friends.
The festival is held on the scenic foreshore at Shorncliffe in conjunction with the annual Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race. It’s a perfect vantage point to watch the start of this iconic race plus an opportunity to see the Multihull Yacht race start up close off the Pier.
Moora Park, Shorncliffe is jam packed with entertainment through the day with live bands, kids workshops, rides, food and markets all culminating into a beach party and fireworks in the evening.
Back in 1997 Anne Hobbs and her creative team held the very first Bluewater Festival which has now grown to be one of the best events held on Good Friday.
Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race
Bluewater Festival at Shorncliffe provides the absolute best waterfront views for the official start of Australia’s second biggest yacht race; 74th Brisbane to Gladstone. It’s known to be one of Australia’s flagship offshore yacht races and has been held annually over Easter since 1949.
The Multihull Yachts start the race just off the Shorncliffe Pier – it’s an amazing experience to see the fire-cannon start and watch these magnificent boats in action.
Please note food / dessert / drink vendor applications have closed for Bluewater 2023, however market stall applications are still open.
