How does it work

Jingle Brews is a fun get together for the community and local businesses to celebrate the Christmas season and fundraise for the charity Variety Club.

Register your team of friends, family or work mates and get ready for for an afternoon of Pints, cool drinks, games and activities across five of Sandgate’s favourite locations. Please note all participants must 18 years or older.

From early afternoon teams will make their way around Bluenose Betty, the Cardigan Bar, Mr Hendersons, Sandgate Post Office Hotel and the Sands Social.

Please note the event is a ‘shotgun start’ meaning not every team will start at the same venue. Your team will be allocated your starting location and order you visit the venues close to the event. Please note you are required to walk between venues.

Tickets are $99 per person and include one Pint of beer at each venue (different style of beer at each location – beer can be substituted for a glass of house wine or soft drink), a souvenir Pint glass, complimentary snacks at three venues, entertainment, games and activities.

Each team will be asked to have a team costume, name and captain, and prizes will be awarded throughout the afternoon for games and activities.

Charity donations and venue rules

All profits raised from ticket sales go directly to ‘Variety the Childrens Charity’.

Each venue will also have set rules that must be followed while your team is there. Failure to follow the rules will result in a ‘fine’ (voluntary donation) which will go directly to the Variety Club. For example the rule at one venue might be that you can only drink with your left hand. If you get caught drinking with your right hand you will be asked to make a donation to charity.

Rules will be sent out prior to the event and will be given to you on the day.

How to book

If you already have a team the easiest thing to do is click on ‘get your tickets’ and make a single purchase for your entire team. There will be space to enter your team name when you book.

If your team members are booking individually please make sure everyone enters the same team name (there is space to do so) when you book.

If you don’t have a team you are welcome to book to and you can do the event by yourself or we can add you with other solo booking to make a team.

Terms and conditions

  • All participants must be 18 years or older
  • We encourage participants to substitute alcohol drinks for soft drinks and drink water throughout the afternoon
  • Light complimentary snacks will be provided at Sandgate Post Office Hotel, Bluesnose Betty and the Sands Social. Participants can also order food off select menus. We recommend you do this on arrival to ensure you have time to get your meal.
  • Tickets are non-refundable but can be transferred provided you provide us with at least 48hours notice.
